About The Builder
-
Since semi-retiring after 25 years in the RCMP (Ret #31455) I ventured into serious custom woodworking after building a variety of items for friends and family. Previously, I filled my garage with bags of sawdust and a variety of scraps of wood and a handsome collection of tools. (I was always a believer of the old adage of “those who die with the most tools – Wins!”) I have continued to hone my skills and have focused on the products pictured herein..

I had been asked a few years ago if I could build a trunk that could accommodate member’s kit and collectibles similar to the old “blue trunk” that every member ended up buying before leaving Depot Division. I created the “Steamer Style” trunk and found it took a fair amount of time as each piece of wood was custom planed and finished to get to the final product. I’m proud of the final product and have the first model displayed in my living room.

I was later asked if I could design and supply a new product that would be used for a new line; thus the Regimental Memorial Urn was born. The original version has been continually upgraded to what is now being offered. The new versions now comply with the standards set for burial urns and their professional finish adds to their quality new look and feel.

I recently took the reigns of Barn & Stable Regimental Trunks and renamed the company, Barn & Stable Regimental Trunks & Urns. I hope to continue with the business relationship forged with the RCMP National Memorial Cemetery in Ottawa and hope to be supplying the Memorial Urns for all members who wish to be interned in the National Cemetery, and elsewhere, and look forward to offering my products to other service providers as my company grows.

As stated on this website, Barn & Stable Regimental Trunks & Urns is registered with the Mounted Police Foundation and a portion of the sales of each licensed item helps create programs that give back to Canadian communities and royalties are redirected to support RCMP community policing initiatives across Canada. Please visit the Mounted Police Foundation’s website at http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/musicalride/mpf_e.htm for further information on this worthwhile program and scroll through the various informative links.
